Applying Base Shift in Emlid Flow
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.11 месяцев назад
In this video, we will walk you through the base shift feature in the Emlid Flow app. When you can't place a base on a known point, base shift allows you to set it up nearby and calculate the offset. After applying base shift, you can continue surveying as if your base is over the known point. We’ll explain in what cases base shift is helpful and how you can use it. Nice video guys 👌
Pretty good simplification of the current state of RTK. I've been using RTK for almost 30 years, have built and operated an RTK network, train people on how to use it and help develop standards for its use with a major state DOT. Your distance error statement was not correct in my opinion, at least for this level of discussion. In my opinion, you should simply have described the distant dependent error. Saying it is good or not at a range depends on the precision/accuracy needed, and that varies. RTK is entirely appropriate at 50im, for certain applications (single or multi-band) Single band RTK isn't just limited to 10km, It has more to do with the integer ambiguity (described) and often having to fix over a known point. Multiband RTK has near instantaneous 'fix' and can better correct for ionospheric error, which does impact the distance dependent error, but not by much for RTK. This is a good quick description overall, and one that I would use if I were to put it in context.
👍
Muchas gracias. Andres Toral from Chile-Geomensor
Hi there, I have followed this instruction, but just did not work, maybe because my reach base does not connect to internet? since I connect the reach base and emlid flow through my phone, and my phone have an active internet connection, does it mean my reach base also have active internet connection? or I have separately activate the reach base internet connection via slot sim card and activate the internet?
Great pruducts, I have used Emlid RS and RS2 in all my jobs and research.
congratulations
There is a lot of trigger missing problem happens in the E-mlid M2, When we complaint about the small to imlid- they simply act as they have never heard this issue before while the issue is being all over the internet if you search for and so far there is no solution for the same. We had potential financial loss due to this issue because the data simply cannot use. Planning to switch as they dont have a plan to fix it.
I hope next update is removable battery
Felicitaciones por estos 10 años!!
can reach v3 collect automatically per every specified distance or time
looks like there are other low cost alternatives than Reach!
I already connect the rover and base but its shows that "no data"
So im trying to understand. You setup the base on a known GPS point in an area with no NTRIP. Your base essentially turns into an station for your rovers and since your base and rover are connected to the same network, the corrections are through the internet connection and you can be fairly far from the base. Or in the case youre in an area where you have to pay to connect to the CORS stations, this would bypass the need to pay that fee. I live in Florida so I pretty much have NTRIP everywhere I go for free through FDOT.
Hello, I couple of questions: 1. Is an account with Emlid needed to run Emlid Flow? 2. Do you need to first setup the RS3 as shown in the "Reach RS3 first start" video before connecting to your iOS phone Hotspot as shown in this video? We have been trying to follow the instructions on Emlid's page to setup or RS3 for a few months now with no success. Our intention is to use it with NTRIP protocol and use it as a base for a DJI M3 Enterprise as well. Your help will be really appreciated as it's getting a little frustrating no being able to use the unit. Thank you.
S22 supports carrier phase if I am not mistaking. RTCM messages can be received from any free nearby station. Is there nothing preventing my phone from achieving <10cm accuracy then?

hi is my fist time with Emlid but no with GNSS, is not necessary make enveloping network for this survey? in the other branch if necessary.
Hi Juan! I'm not sure I got your question right. What do you mean by enveloping network?
closed loop@@Emlid
Nope, for localization, it's not necessary@@juancarloscouturierdiaz2775
Do you have a written workflow to this video?
Yes, sure, here it is: docs.emlid.com/reachrs3/rtk-quickstart/connecting-reach-to-the-internet/connecting-to-the-mobile-hotspot
Hi, does this process work the same for emlid reach RX? Thank you
Hi! Nope, Reach RX works via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). This process is way easier, you can check it here: ruclips.net/video/PviTKI94uWc/видео.htmlfeature=shared
What tripod do you use/recommend?
Hi! RS2+ and RS3 has a standard thread, so basically any tripod should work just fine.
Can you like have an rtk drone to aid the rover and base when its hard to find signal because of say vegetation?
Hi! It is possible, but if there is dense vegetation, it may be difficult to obtain an accurate drone map too. Photogrammetric software needs contrasting points in photos to tie them together. Trees don't work as points of contrast.
@@Emlid i hope that "weakness" or downside of rtk could be addressed. Gotta go for total station where there is vegetation blocking the signal
Does this require a base station to use?
Hi there! This is the first model of Reach receivers. Check out the modern version-Reach RS2+ emlid.com/reachrs2plus/. You can use two Reach RS2+ units as a base and a rover. Or you can use a single Reach RS2+ as a rover and connect it to an NTRIP service or CORS to receive RTK corrections.

struggling to get this to work. It wont connect to my wifi network, netwrok name and password are correct. security is WPA2.. tried multiple wifi's not sure what to do??
Jason, please contact us at support@emlid.com. Our support team will help you out.
@@Emlid all good i resolved it by connecting to pc, downloading the firmware updater and updating it that way.
@@jasonvane5245 Glad to hear you solved it! Still, the reflashing isn't the best way to update your device cause it erases all the data. So, if you ever face any issues with the update process via the app, don't hesitate to contact us.
WHAT´S THE MAXIMUM DISTANCE TO MAKE THE BASE SHIFT?
If you just use it for a linear shift, there are no limitations.
HOW MUCH PLEASE
Hi! You can find it in our online store: store.emlid.com/product/reach-rs3/
Will the rs1 exists?
Does it support Bluetooth on iOS devices? And can it be fully integrated with Esri Field Maps on iOS? This is a limitation with RS2.
@@fadi8843 Hi! In terms of integration with iOS, RS3 works exactly like RS2
The RS+ is single-band rubbish. It might work OK if you are surveying in the desert where there are no trees or buildings, otherwise it is impossible to get a useful set of data points in any reasonable amount of time. Do not waste your time with this product. It serves no useful purpose other than to take your money.

Please create a THOROUGH CORRECT REAL WORLD EXAMPLE of Localization. I.e. bring a DXF CAD file in and Localize using Control Points and elevation 😊
Hi Tim! Coming soon :)
Is there any way to communicate with this software via API? Where, through parameters, can I send the base and rover data and it returns with the corrected data?
Hi! At the moment, there is only desktop version. But you can contact us at support@emlid.com, and we'll note your request!
Such a great tool. Can you guys let users decide to tag TIFF or RAW formats too?
Thanks! We definitely can note it as a feature request!
Doesn't say much.. gloss over many details!
All the license "professional" surveyors that I hired and personally witnessed stake out a worksite using just the carry around one... I would always double checking their work measuring physicals tools it has always been off by a whole six inches to a foot no matter who I hired. Now watching this video and knowing that none of them use proper equipment to give us accurate information I am fuming at how much money was wasted paying those lazy cheap frauds. Should/can I sue them?
Is either the site has canopy or the instrument they brought is fault, next time tell them to do test of instrument before site operation
Lol no they are using a remote base through the internet, they don't need to set up their own base station. It's called VRS and it's not going to be 6" off. In my experience 99% of the time some guy with a tape measure is saying that the surveyors are off, he is the one that is wrong.
I can assure that neither I or anyone that works for me would have done that, if it is true. Take your concerns to the registered professional who you should have contracted for the work. If you are not satisfied, take you claim to the state board of registration. If you just hired some hack that isn't licensed (as they are legally required to be in most states) then you get what you pay for. If you are in California, you have a lot of options. If you are in one of those "I hate regulation" states, then you might be screwed.
@@gunningopher Sadly all these surveyors were licensed, I am in Florida so it seems this is one area that needs better regulated. I think part of the problem is with some of these surveyors the actually licensed person is not actually doing any the work and is sending barely trained field workers out to do the bare minimum to cut cost.
@@doormanfoc take a complaint to the board of registration. It is common practice for the licensed practitioner to be in the office, but that in no way absolves him of responsible charge for the work that they contract.

does it have a built in COGO?
Hi! It's not supported yet, but we have COGO on our roadmap.
does reach rs2+ have tilt IMU ?
Hi! Reach RS2+ doesn't support tilt compensation.
Kindly make a video on how to use Emlid studio to post process static observation data. Thank you.

If the relative position of the base station is offset to the north, will the rover's relative position also always be offset to the north with the same offset length?
Wonderfull!
Hi, have a Emlid Flow possibility work with surfaces and road alignment?
Hi there! Emlid Flow doesn't support these features at the moment, but we'll definitely pass your requests to our devs. Also, it would be great if you could provide us with more specific details (like the type of surfaces) at support@emlid.com.
Hi, what is the accuracy difference using only one Emlid SR2+ as a rover with RTK via NTRIP (with wifi cellphone) vs one SR2+ as a rover and another one as a base like in the video ?
The Calculated shift shown as the title slide/ frame for the video, and also seen at ruclips.net/video/PYw67TtYQXU/видео.html in the video, shows a shift in the northing of 7.8241 m, but shouldn't it be 50,000,007.824 m ? There's also the unexplained bits at ruclips.net/video/PYw67TtYQXU/видео.html why the video is showing a local coordinate system for the known point, and then at ruclips.net/video/PYw67TtYQXU/видео.html the measured point is in SRB_ETRS89. This should be explained or corrected.
Seems all "example" videos for most software are like this. Just adds to confusion and makes one question things when trying to learn. It would be nice if the videos were thorough and correct based on real world examples. Prime example: the KNOWN POINT illustration was at a higher elevation. Yet the data they use for the KNOWN and MEASURED are inverted in elevation. So yeah, ??? 😮
